MESC aims to be at the forefront of research institutions implementing social responsibility. Not through side projects, but by merging this responsibility within our paths of research and development, by prioritizing projects of greater impact on the society rather than revenue.
Being a research institution, we are passionate about enabling graduates and undergraduates to persue research in general.
This includes a variety of internships and different academic support programs that provide assistance in both the academic and logistical aspects.
We are continuously striving to come up with more programs that can cover a wider audience of students and researchers.
The current project aims at designing a CAD software that "aids" mammographers in detecting breast abnormalities. The research activities include data acquisition, image processing and machine learning algorithms design, software engineering (SWE) activities for producing an end-user software, and clinical trials to measure the relative performance of radiologists before/after using the CAD.
The Project was funded by Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), under the Advanced Research Project (ARP) plan.
